My journey, much like the world around us, has been one of profound questions and transformative discoveries. I felt the powerful forces shaking the planet, asking myself: Will we choose fear and darkness, or love and hope in our everyday lives? What’s our role in all of this?
These questions sent me on a path of seeking, a pilgrimage that took me across continents and into the depths of ancient wisdom. Like the Alchemist in the story, I wandered around the world – from the sacred path of the Camino de Santiago in Spain to deep meditation in Thailand, sharing music and blessings from my Afro-Brazilian ancestors in Bali, and receiving the unconditional love of Amma in India.
Through these experiences, I began to realize that the "treasure" I sought wasn't in a distant place. It was always within. "Home" wasn't a location – it was a state of being in my heart and mind, a life of purpose found in giving myself to create a happier world.
And then, I cracked the code: my gift is to amplify the song of our hearts.
From this realization, Awaken Through Music was born. It emerged from the conviction that music is far more than just sound – it’s medicine, nourishment for the soul, and a bridge that unites us all.
Here, we gather to attune ourselves to deeper frequencies, harmonizing rhythm and silence, melody and meaning. Our community is a living soundscape: instruments in hand, voice as vessel, we flow between ancient mantras and newly discovered harmonies. My sound is deeply shaped by sacred music traditions from around the world, especially from Brazil (Candomblé, Umbanda, Santo Daime, Indigenous, Afro-Brazilian), alongside Hindu and Buddhist mantras, heart/medicine songs, Neo-classical piano, New Age, MPB, and Jazz. Artists like Dead Can Dance, Bobby Mcferrin, Tom Jobim, Djavan, and Oscar Peterson have also left their mark. I'm drawn to music for awakening, healing, opening the heart, raising frequency, and finding both calm and ecstatic joy.
